On Wednesday, May 4, 2011, President Barack Obama decided to control the backlash from the killing of Osama bin Laden, by ordering that photos of the corpse kept secret. But within hours of President Obama's decision, Reuters released gory photographs of three blood-drenched bodies that are believed to the men killed in the U.S. attack on the hideout of bin Laden in Pakistan.

Today, Thursday, May 5, 2011, President Barack Obama will reflect on the lives loss on 9/11 at the hallowed site of Ground Zero with the laying of a wreath. For President Obama the location is a place of "mixed emotions" and political complexity. As such, President Obama does not plan to give any public remarks. Rather he has planned a meeting with the family members and friends of victims.

Lewis Eisenberg, former chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and a member of the Lower Manhattan Development Corp. board said, "I don't know how to respond to the president's visit, but to the extent that it gives comfort and closure to the families I am most grateful.''

In New York City, President Obama will participate in a wreath laying ceremony at the National September 11th Memorial Preview Site in New York, New York at 11:25PM.

Following the ceremony, President Obama will meet with 9/11 family members at 9/11 Memorial at 11:45AM. Also, during the trip, President Obama will meet with first responders.

In the afternoon, President Obama will return to Washington, DC by departing from John F. Kennedy International Airport and arrive on the White House South Lawn at 4:15PM.

At 6:00PM President Obama and the U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama will host Cinco de Mayo during a reception in the East Room of the White House in Washington, DC.
