"Earlier today, the President met with newly appointed Special Envoy for Sudan Ambassador Princeton Lyman at the White House. The meeting comes at a critical time with only 99 days remaining before the end of the interim period of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement. The President expressed his gratitude for Ambassador Lyman’s long service on Africa, for his willingness to lead U.S. efforts on Sudan, and told Ambassador Lyman that he has the full support of the White House. During the meeting, the President outlined his serious concerns over the situation in Abyei and the impact that increased bombings are having on civilians in Darfur. The President underscored his commitment to the establishment of two viable states in northern and South Sudan in July. They discussed the urgency of all parties joining the new opportunities in the Doha Peace Process and of elevating the level of international engagement on Darfur. The President charged Ambassador Lyman, working closely with his Senior Advisor for Darfur Dane Smith, to increase efforts towards achieving a lasting ceasefire and political settlement at Darfur peace negotiations in Doha.
At the President’s behest, Ambassador Lyman will make two trips to the region in the next month—one focused on Comprehensive Peace Agreement implementation and the other dedicated to Darfur. Ambassador Lyman leaves on the first of these trips this weekend and will provide the President with his findings and recommendations upon his return."

"The Global World Awakened to Minimize Libyan Madness"
Posted and Written by Karen Ann Carr

WASHINGTON, DC- On March 12, 2011 we published an article hoping for change, and change came, global leaders have acted in a timely manner to make a decisive move to defend innocent citizens in Libya. The military action in Libya will "be a bumpy ride," President Obama said.
Some are arguing that actions to defend the innocent in Libya has come late. But those on the ground in Libya would likely not entertain such arguments. They are still alive. They are still breathing. The likelihood of Libyan citizens living a more fore-filing life, even if it is outside of Libya, is within the realm of possibility, because they are still alive.
Slavery in America was honorable but why waist time arguing that slavery did not end in America soon enough? Unfortunately, bad things happen much to long, if they continue for more than a second of time. Good things, however, last for an eternity.
There are great Libyan leaders that are still alive who are perhaps children, because America, France, the Arab League and the United Nations agreed to move against the Libyan leaders. In contrast, those who have power over the state sponsored killing, raping and torture of Libyan citizens have not limited their scope of scale of deprivation.
Libyan female lawyers have been gathered and given to groups of men to be used as sexual objects. The homes of innocent families with little children are still being bombed by random acts of paid killers in Libya. Dreadful conditions, humiliation and gross poverty are the tools of a very committed military force supporting the historic Libyan government led by Colonel Muʿammar al-Qaddāfī and his fighters.
Notwithstanding the time loss and those dead or alive in Libya, a Libya defection gives reason to pressing forward to defend the citizens of Libya.

Statement by the Press Secretary on Violence in Syria
"We condemn and deplore the use of violence against citizens demonstrating in Syria, and applaud the courage and dignity of the Syrian people. We urge all parties to maintain calm and avoid violence, and call on the Syrian government to respect human rights and to allow for peaceful demonstrations. The Syrian government has an important opportunity to be responsive to the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people. President Bashar al-Assad has a responsibility to promptly take concrete steps and actions that deliver on his promises and advance a meaningful reform agenda. Violence is not the answer to the grievances of the Syrian people. What is needed now is a credible path to a future of greater freedom, democracy, opportunity, and justice."

"OUTRAGEOUS LIBYAN GOVERNANCE: WESTERN WORLD COMPLICITY"
Re-edited Version
Written and Posted by Karen Ann Carr
______________________________
LIBYA- Is this an example of what the global world courts will tolerate, if the citizens of a nation-state act to call for the stepping down of leadership? People are dying everyday in their homes, hospitals and on the streets for doing nothing more than being unhappy about governance. Meanwhile, global leaders are looking at television and talking about holding those accountable for the outrageous murders.
Really, really, someone is going to hold Colonel Muʿammar al-Qaddāfī and his fighters and his murderous bans of hired killers accountable? Please, please, no one is holding him or the bands of murders accountable. Babies are dead, women and the elderly are being taken away from their homes by force, murdered and openly taken to morgues with crushed skulls and broken bones. Tanks, heavy artillery and helicopters are being deployed against towns in Libya after the water and electricity has been cut off. No one with definitive authority and power is holding anyone or government accountable.
Wake up America! Wake up United Nations! Wake up global consciousness! What is going on in Libya is not about the restrictions of international law. What is going on in Libya is a test of human consciousness.
Is the global consciousness asleep, dead or willing to be complicit with governance that includes systematic murderous rampages of a state against its citizens? Would global leaders decisively act in a timely manner to stop a holocaust in a recognized nation-state? How quickly will the Western world or the Eastern community act to arrest a tyrannical leader of a nation-state recognized by the United Nations and the United States of America. Especially when the tyrannical leader decides to systematically and randomly kill people.
And if humanity has sided with Qaddāfī, shame on global humanity. Global humanity, to date stands complicit with the greatest of evils happening in Libya. Shame on the leaders of the Western world and shame on the international global world and its leaders. Shame on Jordan; Shame on England; Shame on Russia; Shame on China. Shame on America! Shame! Shame! Shame, for not warning Qaddaffi to stop the violence or else. Shame! Shame! Shame! Shame on us!
How many more eye witness reports about the murders, the genocide against innocent citizens of Libya are needed for the United State of America and the global world to act? Do we really believe Col. Qaddāfī will ever stand to give an accounting before a global court?
The Libyan madness must stop. The motives of the Libyan government is really clear and it is disgusting. STOP THE MADNESS.
The Libyan government has cut off the electricity and water has been cut off, and children are being killed along with the elderly. In some regions no one is being left alive Shame, shame on us if we continue to play international politics while women, children, men and elderly are slaughtered in Libya
Alex Crawford, a Sky News journalist has witnessed attacks on people in ambulance, on the streets and elsewhere.

Libya, Africa- Along with thousands of refugees, hundreds of Americans fled Libya after being surrounded be Libyan nationals and hired killers brought into Libya by the Libyan government. Thousands of refugees are waiting at the airport in the hopes that they will be allowed to leave Libya. Some Americans cried when they reached safety.
The U.S. government had strongly encouraged Americans to get out of Libya, but Libyan attacks on its own people and others have motivated American Journalist to remain in Libya in order to witness the actions of the Libyan government and report it. Massive killing and raids by mercenary forces are being reported, but not yet confirmed.
Today, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will discuss this challenge with her colleagues at the Human Rights Council in Geneva, as directed by President Barack Obama last week.
Everyday life is being perceived as being deadly and risky in Libya. Even family relationships may serve to be harmful to ones health and survival, if you say the wrong thing.
State produced propaganda is being broadcast by the Libyan government to shift public opinion away from the obvious, namely, missing people. The government is producing propaganda to support the official goal of developing the impression that everything is OK. But one region of Libya after another is defecting away from the rule or reign of the government. Multiple foreign nongovernmental organizations have accepted resolutions calling for the end of violence in Libya.
President Barack Obama is encouraging the long-standing government to step down; in the hopes that more blood shed will be prevented.
"Special Session of the Human Rights Council on the Situation in Libya"
Hillary Rodham ClintonSecretary of StateWashington, DCFebruary 25, 2011"The United States welcomes today’s action by the UN Human Rights Council condemning human rights violations and violence committed by the Libyan government against its own people, and we strongly support the Council’s establishment of an independent commission of inquiry to investigate these violations with a view towards ensuring that those responsible are held accountable. The Council also recommended suspending Libya’s membership and our Mission at the United Nations in New York is working with partners in the General Assembly to build support for a resolution to do so.
These steps underscore the international community's profound concern about the abuses in Libya, and we urge all nations to speak with one voice in support of universal human rights. That includes an immediate end to Libyan government violence against the Libyan people and support for the universal rights of peaceful assembly, free speech, and self-determination. The Libyan people should be able to determine their own destiny.
Today’s vote must be followed by sustained commitment and consistent action, and I will discuss this challenge with my colleagues at the Human Rights Council in Geneva on Monday."

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA
AT “IN PERFORMANCE AT THE WHITE HOUSE: THE MOTOWN SOUND”
White House East Room
7:31 P.M. EST
U.S. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA:
Good evening, everybody. Please have a seat. Tonight we continue one of my favorite traditions here at the White House by celebrating the music that’s at the heart of the American story. And as we come to the end of Black History Month, I can’t think of a better way to do it than by honoring the legendary sound of Motown.
I want to start by thanking our performers here tonight: Natasha Bedingfield, Sheryl Crow, Jamie Foxx, Gloriana, Nick Jonas, Ledisi, John Legend, Amber Riley, Mark Salling, Seal, Jordin Sparks, Smokey Robinson and because we weren’t sure that was enough, we thought we might throw Stevie Wonder in there. And obviously we are grateful for all the other Motown legends who are gracing us with their presence. Thank you for being here.
Over the years, this room has hosted some of the most talented musicians in the world, from classical to country. But Motown is different. No one knows exactly when jazz began. Nobody knows who the first person was to sing a freedom song. But we know where Motown came from. We know it was born in the basement of a house on West Grand Boulevard in the Motor City -- Detroit. And we know it started with a man named Berry Gordy, who is here with us tonight. Stand up, Berry.
Now, apparently Berry tried a lot of things before following his heart into music. A high school dropout, he failed as a record store owner, competed as an amateur boxer, finally took a job earning $85 a week on the assembly line at the local Lincoln-Mercury plant. And it was there, watching the bare metal frames transformed into gleaming automobiles, that Berry wondered why he couldn’t do the same thing with musicians, and help turn new talent into stars.
And before long, he quit his job at the plant, borrowed $800, and set up shop in a little house with a banner across the front that read “Hitsville, U.S.A.” His family thought he was delusional. (Laughter.) But as Berry said, “People thought the Wright Brothers had a stupid idea, so I say, ‘Bring on the stupid ideas.’”
As it turned out, Berry could recognize talent and potential better than anybody else in the business. It began with Smokey Robinson, who stopped by the Motown house with a group of friends calling themselves the Miracles. Then came one of Smokey’s neighbors -– a high school senior named Diana Ross, who started out working as a secretary. One of the Miracles brought along his little brother, who invited a 10-year-old blind kid named Stephen Hardaway Judkins to tag along. And then there was a group called the Jackson Five, fresh from amateur night at the Apollo, that Gladys Knight told Berry he just had to see.
Pretty soon, the basement studio was turning out hits faster than Detroit was turning out cars. From 1961 to 1971, Motown produced 110 Top 10 hits from artists like Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, The Four Tops and The Supremes. In the process, Motown’s blend of tight lyrics, catchy melodies and deep soul began to blur the line between music that was considered either “black” or “white.” As Smokey Robinson said, “I recognized the bridges that were crossed, the racial problems and the barriers that we broke down with music. I recognized that because I lived it.”
Along the way, songs like “Dancing in the Streets” and “What’s Going On” became the soundtrack of the civil rights era. Black artists began soaring to the top of the pop charts for the first time. And at concerts in the South, Motown groups literally brought people together –- insisting that the ropes traditionally used to separate black and white audience members be taken down.
So, today, more than 50 years later, that’s the Motown legacy. Born at a time of so much struggle, so much strife, it taught us that what unites us will always be stronger than what divides us. And in the decades since, those catchy beats and simple chords have influenced generations of musicians, from Sheryl Crow to the Jonas Brothers.
So to everybody watching, both here and at home, let’s take a trip back to that little studio in Detroit and enjoy the unmistakable sound of Motown. Thank you very much.____________________________

"In meetings with senior Libyan government officials, U.S. diplomats were told that some members of CNN, BBC Arabic and Al Arabiya would be allowed into the country to report on the current situation. These same senior officials also said that some reporters had entered the country illegally and that the Libyan government now considered these reporters Al Qaida collaborators.
The Libyan government said that it was not responsible for the safety of these journalists, who risked immediate arrest on the full range of possible immigration charges. Foreign journalists already in Libya who are not part of the approved teams were urged to immediately join the approved teams in-country.
Be advised, entering Libya to report on the events unfolding there is additionally hazardous with the government labeling unauthorized media as terrorist collaborators and claiming they will be arrested if caught."
