Yesterday the international community of the "UN Security Council" voted to impose a no-fly zone over Libya and authorized "all necessary measures" to protect civilians from attacks by Colonel Muʿammar al-Qaddāfī and his fighters.
But Colonel Qaddāfī is not a man that anyone can politically negotiate with. He declared a cease-fire to political authority while continuing his attack and bombing.
The former recognized Libyan leader, Colonel Qaddafi, continues to implement his vow to crush the rebellion. He is implementing a final assault on the opposition capital of Benghazi.
An opposition leader said, "the merciless dictator started shelling ... civilian areas this morning.
Despite the U.N. approved Libyan no-fly zone Colonel Qaddafi's military continues to shell Libyan opposition teams and Libyan civilian.
An Opposition Leader tells the world, "He is lying." declaring a cease fire is a political response by Qaddafi.
Misrata is being burned and being bombed NOW, it is 11:03 EST Friday, March 18, 2011.
The Opposition Leader went on to say that he could hear a battle raging and could see a wounded man being carried to safety. But the bombing could be heard as he said "There is no cease-fire."
"The merciless dictator started shelling ... civilian areas" this morning"
"Misrata is on fire and under fire. ... The dead and wounded can not be taken to doctors because of the attack by Qaddaffi's military.
Meanwhile, Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton said "we must take this one step at a time." The U.N. vote on a no-fly zone "reflects a deep understanding" of the situation. The first step is to stop the violence. We would have to be an accounting on the ground."
The world will see what the next step is. It is a fluid and dynamic situation that deserved our human attention for weeks. The world and the opposition civilians of Libya are being forced to face this challenge together. Now, we must put international aircraft in the air to encourage Libya to stop killing its opposition citizens.
Qaddaffi's military must be stopped immediately and encouraged to accept global freedoms for its people, by actively forcing the war criminals to accept the decision of the international diplomatic community.
Qaddaffi has not stopped the violence. But a no fly zone by it self may be late.Secretary Clinton said, “it is an important step.”
U.S. role in Libya, according to Major General “Spider” Mark James "is a war against Libya. But it is a little bit too late". Major General Jones said, "the first step is to take out the air assets of Libya."
The United States of America may have to declare war to assist the Libyan Opposition forces to save human beings in Libya.
France is ready to take military action in Libya to save Libyan civilians."Today the Security Council has responded to the Libyan people's cry for help," added U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice.
This is a hard call but some nations have to save the Libyan people from further destruction as the Arab League and the United Nations wants to do.
