WASHINGTON, DC- Five Stars production placed a spot light on the manner in which the mass media exploits the fears of human beings to achieve excellent viewing ratings rather than exploiting the best of humanity.
As fortune would have it, I had the opportunity to view the rally with elderly people who loved the Ed Sullivan Show, 60 Minuets and the Sound of Music movie. What ever happened to achieving excellent ratings by educating, enlightening and serving the public interest by illuminating the best that humanity has to offer.
Do you remember gathering around the television to see and hear NASA talk to the first man on the moon? Or perhaps you remember the "Flying Nun" television show. What about profoundly deep programs concerning the opening of the National Holocaust Museum? At that time we recall thinking about the excellent presentation of former Vice President Gore.C-SPAN wrote, "On Saturday, October 30, 2010, "Comedy Central's" Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert present their satirical response." The response was directed toward recent political commentators in the mass media, who organize spin about their own opinions rather than the news.
By organizing the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear on the National Mall in Washington, D.C mass media entertainers Stewart and Colbert, wonderfully, demonstrated the errors of serious mass media today, by exposing the outrageous nature of programed bias. Wolves dressed in sheep's clothing.
The event was promoted as "a rally for the people who've been too busy to go to rallies, who actually have lives and families and jobs (or are looking for jobs) -- not so much the Silent Majority as the Busy Majority."
